The BIOVALUE project is developed as part of the “Energy valorization of biomasses and residues” Line of the Campania Region’s Energy Technology District. The overall objective of the project consists in the contribution to the development of integrated plant typologies for the realization of small plants distributed throughout the territory and which can represent both a distributed production of electricity and heat, as well as a stimulus for the revitalization of local entrepreneurship, with positive economic and employment repercussions.

Activities

SeaPower scrl’s activities have been focused on the analysis of small-scale anaerobic management plants in Campania, in order to compare them in terms of logistical, operational, data monitoring and plant maintenance issues. Particular attention was paid to an existing anaerobic digestion plant for zoo-technical effluents and agro-industry by-products with a nominal-power of 249 kW located in Valva (SA).

SeaPower scrl designed and implemented a biological desulfurization tower downstream of the digester, with the aim of carrying out a correct desulfurization process, characterized by high purification efficiencies, contained construction costs and almost zero operating costs.
